Facilities Development Subcommittee
On behalf of the Windsor State School P & C, a sub committee comprising interested parents was established in August 2005 to complete a facilities needs assessment and contribute to the development of Master Plan for the School.
The Facilities Sub Committee undertook this task with the following brief-:
Create facilities at Windsor State School that enable it to achieve its vision to provide a socially relevant environment which encourages students to develop self-confidence and embrace life long learning.
The Sub Committee adopted the following approach-:
Facilities must support school vision and values
Balance both long and short term needs
Work within relevant Planning Guidelines and Legislation (eg. heritage listing)
Ideas must be mindful of our neighbours and the community
Ideas need to be funded in a way that is acceptable to our School P&C and in line with EQ funding arrangements
A comprehensive needs analysis of stakeholders needs, allowing the full range of school and community aspirations and other opportunities to be identified and evaluated, was completed.
