Resource Centre
Our school Resource Centre collaboratively combines a well stocked library with a 15 workstation computer lab. Qualified service orientated staff support students in their learning of information literacy, research, literature appreciation and information communication technologies, usually in a group size of 15 or less to maximise opportunities for personalised instruction.
The whole of school community use the Resource Centre for their work, their own investigations and reading for pleasure. The user friendly students borrowing collection is grouped as Non-fiction, Junior Non-fiction, Picture Books, Young Readers Chapter Books and Children’s Chapter Books.
Weekly ‘Readers Chatroom’ allows students share and discuss their current reading/information pursuits with their peers and keep up to date with new releases.
To support students and teachers in their information, reading and life-long learning requirements innovative partnerships have been established with Education Queensland’s Corporate Library, Queensland Museum Loans, Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Library, Brisbane City Council Libraries, Queensland State Library and the University of Queensland Cyberary.
